TEFROTEX is the range of cement-based primary deck coverings made by GTF Freese in Bremen. A primary deck covering is the levelling and load-distributing layer applied directly onto a ship’s steel deck, under the finished floor — carpet, PVC, LVT, ceramic tiles or a full floating-floor build-up.
The seven products differ in one thing above all: density, from a 2000 kg/m³ high-strength screed down to a 600 kg/m³ lightweight compound. Choosing between them is a weight-versus-strength decision, and this page puts the numbers side by side.

The range spans seven products from a 2000 kg/m³ high-strength screed to a 600 kg/m³ lightweight compound, all certified to IMO FTP Code 2010 Part 5.
It is a trade-off between weight and strength. TEFROTEX 60 and 100 are the dense, high-strength options (30 MPa compressive) for decks where load matters more than tonnage. TEFROTEX 90-L, 60-L and 960 sit in the middle around 950–1000 kg/m³. TEFROTEX 700 and 500 P are the lightweight compounds for weight-critical newbuilds, at 700 and 600 kg/m³ — 500 P uses a Poraver lightweight filler and adds thermal insulation at 0.17 W/mK.
It varies by product. TEFROTEX 100 is a thin-layer screed at 1–15 mm. TEFROTEX 90-L covers the widest range at 0.5–50 mm and can be pumped. TEFROTEX 500 P is laid at 10–50 mm as a thick lightweight build-up. Always confirm the layer thickness against the substrate and the finished floor in the specification.
Yes. Every product in the range holds certification under IMO FTP Code 2010 Part 5 (surface flammability), which is the requirement for deck coverings in accommodation and service spaces on SOLAS vessels. Certificates are supplied with the quotation.
TEFROTEX 90-L and TEFROTEX 960 can be machine-pumped as well as hand-applied, which matters on large accommodation areas where hand-mixing seven hundred bags is not realistic. The remaining products are hand-applied.
