DESSO AirMaster Range

DESSO AirMaster is a structured loop pile carpet tile designed around one job: keeping fine dust out of the air you breathe. Tarkett’s patented yarn and construction trap particles in the pile rather than letting foot traffic and swinging doors circulate them — the manufacturer’s GUI test report puts capture at eight times a smooth floor and four times standard carpet.

Nine tile collections share the same technical platform — 50 × 50 cm, Bfl‑s1, solution-dyed ECONYL BCF PA6, recyclable EcoBase backing, loose-laid — and differ in pattern, colour bank and Cradle to Cradle level. This page compares them side by side so you can shortlist in one pass.

Which AirMaster to Choose

Every tile collection shares the dust-capture technology, the Bfl‑s1 rating and the 50 × 50 cm loose-lay format. The choice is pattern, colour bank and how far you need the sustainability credentials to go.

Classic · Sphere · Earth — the combinable trio

  • Best for: offices where one floor mixes several patterns
  • Design: Classic is linear woven stripes, Sphere a tonal grid texture, Earth an organic pattern with a statement black yarn
  • Notes: each carries the same 9 accent + 9 neutral colours, so the three lay together in one scheme. Cradle to Cradle Silver, 24–25 dB impact sound

Tierra · Salina · Nazca Gold — the Gold trio

  • Best for: projects with a certification target to hit
  • Design: Tierra earthy tones with a black accent yarn, Salina a soft organic two-tone, Nazca a woven look with a single colour stripe

  • Format: broadloom roll, glue-down — not a tile, and the one exception in the range
  • Notes: 100% PA6 loop pile, Cfl‑s1 rather than Bfl‑s1, Cradle to Cradle Bronze. Available as broadloom or made-to-size rug

What is DESSO AirMaster?

Is DESSO AirMaster the same as Tarkett AirMaster?

Yes. Tarkett acquired Desso and sells the range as DESSO AirMaster under the Tarkett group. Product literature, datasheets and article numbers use the DESSO name, so specifying it either way reaches the same tiles.

Which AirMaster collections can be laid together?

Two trios are designed to combine. Classic, Sphere and Earth share the same 9 accent plus 9 neutral colour structure — linear, tonal-grid and organic patterns that mix in one floor. Tierra Gold, Salina Gold and Nazca Gold form the second trio. Atmos, Reflection and Desert stand on their own.

What does Gold mean in AirMaster Tierra Gold?

It marks the Cradle to Cradle certification level, not a colour. Tierra Gold, Salina Gold and Nazca Gold are certified Cradle to Cradle Gold; the rest of the tile range is Silver. The Gold trio is also optionally available with the SoundMaster acoustic backing.

Is AirMaster suitable for offices with castor chairs and raised floors?

Yes. The tiles are rated for intensive castor chair use, loose-laid rather than glued, and give 22–26 dB impact sound reduction depending on collection. Loose-lay makes them straightforward over raised access floors and quick to swap tile by tile in an occupied building.
